Should You Become and OptionTide Affiliate?
We made the mistake of signing up with OptionTide's affiliate program for the TraderXP binary options trading platform, and we can assure you that if you sign up, you'll regret it. OptionTide sent us emails telling us how much better their program is than everybody else in the business. Since we don't focus on binary options, and therefore don't do very much business in the space, we decided to give them a shot.
After their big song and dance about how great they are when they were courting us, once we were affiliates of theirs, things changed quickly. The very first time we were due a payout, OptionTide started to drag their feet and delay our payment. There was a litany of excuses as to why we hadn't received our commissions. They had a problem with their PayPal account, and then they had a problem with their Moneybookers account, and then they said they'd send a check, which they never did.
We did eventually get that first payment...after about 6 weeks of hounding them. Needless to say, we were immediately gun-shy about sending them much business after that experience. We did decide to give OptionTide another chance thinking that maybe there was an honest mix-up in their system that created the first delay. But again, we didn't want to send them too much business...for obvious reasons.
Our decision to send less business to them was the right one because we never got paid again. The next time we were due a payment, we got the same list of excuses (they must have a script they use) as to why we didn't get paid. Like the first payment, we continued to hound them, but this time the excuses, and the communication, stopped all together. OptionTide decided the best way to deal with an affiliate that they owe money to is to ignore them until they go away.
OptionTide Doesn't Pay Their Affiliates
The bottom line is OptionTide is either insolvent and can't afford to pay their affiliates, or they are just a complete scam designed to rip them off. Either way, if you become an OptionTide affiliate you can expect to be lied to, and you can expect to not get paid for your work. The OptionTide affiliate program should be avoided at all cost. There are plenty of binary options affiliate programs that do honor their affiliate agreements, and do pay their affiliates the commissions they are owed.
